Interactive training course in Piano Technology
This is for anyone who has a serious interest in learning practical skills involved with servicing pianos & who may be considering a career in the piano trade.
Foundation level. Level 1 Course.
Introduction to Piano Tuning Theory and basic Repairs & Regulation. Available later in the year. Dates to be confirmed. Please let us know if you are interested.
Cost £1400 plus tools and materials.
Interactive small Online group based regular fixed time classes. 2 days per week 4 hours per day for 7 weeks. limited availability. Can be done from anywhere in The World
Piano Tuning -This course covers full instruction and demonstration of all practical aspects of tuning. You will be taught how to make the right start on the path of becoming a piano tuner. You will have the opportunity to practice tuning procedures with instant feedback and one to one guidance. You will be provided with all the tools and materials you need to complete the course.
Piano Servicing - Learn the art of servicing and regulating piano actions. You will have the opportunity to practice on piano parts which we will send you as well as work on your own piano.
Classes can be recorded and watched back at a time that suits you. The program can be enhanced by including some one to one sessions.
Successful graduates who wish to continue their training will be able to proceed to level 2 of the certificated course.
Certified Professional Course in Piano Technology
Essentially we are also planning on making an online, interactive version of our existing successful 6 month residential professional program. This covers the same syllabus as the existing course.Intensive Introduction to Piano Technology. (see page). This course is open to all, applications will be dealt with on a case-by case basis.
Students will have the opportunity to visit the Piano Technology School, where appropriate, for face-to-face tuition and testing using the facilities at the school.
Participants will be able to obtain Student membership of the Piano Tuners Association and the Institute of Musical Instrument Technology.
This is a full time commitment for at least 3 days per week, for 5 hours per day over 21 weeks with additional scheduled structured practice. This professional level training is ideal for individuals who want to pursue a career in the piano trade, either as a self employed independent tuner technician, or working as an employee within the existing piano trade.
